The private 8 days imperial cities tour from Casablanca is a cultural trip that focuses on getting acquainted with the rich culture of Morocco through its famous imperial cities, namely, Rabat, Meknes, Fes & Marrakech. The tour also highlights some of the most recommended landmarks including the blue city of Chefchaouen, the Roman Ruins of Volubilis along with the impressive Ouzoud Falls where you will a night in a tranquil setting.

Detailed Itinerary

Meet & greet upon arrival in the Mohammed V International airport, then head to the city center where we will visit the impressive Hassan II Mosque, which is a unique masterpiece of architecture.

Later, we will head to Rabat, which is the first imperial city to explore. Rabat is listed by UNESCO as a world heritage site being the official capital of Morocco since 1912 and home of the king and the royal family.

Start exploring Rabat from the dramatic Uddayas Kasbah that is panoramically located at the estuary of the ever-flowing Bou Regreg River, Sale, and the Atlantic ocean. Meander around the Medina with its shops that sell antiques and traditional items.

Later, we will visit the Hassan Tower, which is the landmark of Rabat with a history that goes back to the 12th century. Adjacent to Hassen Tower is the nice building of Mohammed V Mausoleum where the grandfather, father, and uncle of the current king are buried.

After breakfast, our 8 days imperial cities tour from Casablanca will take us to the blue city of Chefchaouen with a nice drive across the fertile plain of Gharb. 

Arrive in Chefchaouen and start your exploration of this charming town from the Utta el-Hammam Square, which is located in the heart of the city. Visit the Kasbah (fortress), which was founded by Moulay Ali Ibn Rashid to fight against the Spanish and Portuguese invaders.

Chefchaouen is easy to navigate and the most recommended way is to get lost in its beautifully painted streets that are shroud in mystery. Pass by mosques, Hammams, communal bakeries before getting to the panoramic Ras el-Ma Spring.

Walk back to the Utta el-Hammam Square where you may want to have a delicious meal for dinner in one of the lined restaurants while watching the passers-by.

Today, we will drive south across the spectacular Rif Mountains while including a guided tour of the archaeological site of Volubilis, then continue on the track to the second imperial city of Meknes. 

Meknes was built by the late Sultan Moulay Ismail in the 17th century who turned it into the "Versailles of Morocco". Take pictures of the impressive Bab (gate) Mansour, which is one of the most charming gates in the world. 

Visit the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum and then drive through the walls of the royal palace to the granaries and stables. In the late afternoon, we will head to Fes, which is the third imperial city on the itinerary.

After having breakfast in your Riad/hotel, we will devote the day to exploring the best of Fes with a local tour guide.

Take memorable pictures of the golden gates of the royal palace, then stroll in the Mellah (former Jewish Quarter) with its bustling market, cemetery, and synagogue. Explore the Fes el-Bali (oldest Fes) which is listed by UNESCO as a world heritage site and is the largest car-free district in the world.

Our guided tour of the Medina of Fes will include a visit to museums, pass by the countless mosques and madrasas including the famous Al-Qarawyyin University, which is the oldest formal university in the world. Visit the tanneries and explore the Souks that are divided into sections.

Today, our interesting journey will take us to the impressive Ouzoud Falls passing by the fertile plain of Beni Mellal. Spend the fourth night by the charming Ouzoud Waterfalls while enjoying the immense beauty of nature.

After breakfast, we will have a late departure to Marrakech across olive fields. Once we arrive in Marrakech, you may want to stretch your legs in the vibrant Jemaa el-Fna Square that turns into a carnival in the evening filled with acrobats, snake-charmers, storytellers, fortune-tellers, musicians, magicians, and food stalls serving Moroccan delicacies.

Today, we will spend the day exploring the best of Marrakech with a local tour guide. Drive through the Ville Nouvelle (New Town) to make a visit to the botanical Majorelle Gardens.

Have a guided tour of the Medina (old town) by visiting the 15th century Saadian Tombs, the 19th century Bahia Palace before strolling in the vibrant Souks that are divided into sections. 

End the tour of Marrakech in the bustling Jemaa el-Fna Square or escort to your Riad/hotel.
