Explore the mysterious city of Essaouira with its UNESCO-listed fortified Medina (old town) with its traditional fishing port and sandy beaches that keep attracting surfers and kite surfers.

Stop by the sea resort of Taghazout as well as make a visit to the landmarks of Agadir including the Kasbah, the Sunday market, the Medina Polizzi along with stretching your legs by the paved Corniche. Get to Marrakech and include a cultural tour with a local tour guide.

Detailed Itinerary

Meet & greet upon arrival in the Menara international airport of Marrakech or pick up from your Riad/hotel and head west for an interesting 6 days tour from Marrakech to the coasts.

Drive west to Essaouira passing by the nearby fertile plain before getting to the land of Argan trees. You may want to include a local Argan Cooperative to form an idea of how this gold oil is being made using traditional methods.

Arrive in Essaouira in the afternoon and you will have time on your own to meander around the city.

  • Overnight accommodation in a comfortable Riad/hotel including bed and breakfast.

After breakfast, you will devote most of the day to exploring the best of Essaouira on your own (Essaouira is easy to navigate without the need of using a local tour guide's services). You may want to start your exploration of the city by its traditional fishing that goes back to the 18th century when Sultan Muhammed Ibn Abdallah decided to turn Essaouira into the economic capital of Morocco.

Explore the fortified walls of the Medina with its bastions that are located by the Atlantic Ocean. The Medina (old town) is listed by UNESCO as a world heritage site and its mystery keeps attracting tourists from all over the world including the hippies.

Meander around the Medina intricate streets with its tiny shops that sell unique items at affordable prices. Visit the traditional fish market and include a delicious meal for lunch. If you are a surfer, then Essaouira is the perfect place for you.

Today, we will resume our 6 days tour from Marrakech to the coasts by driving south alongside the Atlantic Coastline and Argan fields. 

We will include a short break in the village of Tamri which is famous for growing organic bananas. Get to Taghazout, which is an attraction among surfers and kitesurfers. 

Arrive in Agadir in the late afternoon where you may want to stretch your legs by the paved Corniche.

After breakfast, we will spend the day exploring what the city of Agadir has to offer. Drive uphill to the Kasbah from where you can enjoy the panoramic view of the city and its fertile agricultural plain.

Visit the sea fishing port of Agadir, the explore the Souk el-Had (Sunday Market), which features all kinds of vegetables, crafts, potters, and much more. We will also visit the Medina Polizzi of Agadir which was built by the Italian architect Coco Polizzi to give birth to a typical Moroccan Medina after the earthquake that demolished most of the traditional buildings of Agadir in 1960.

Drive back to the sea resort where you may want to stretch your legs or go for a swim in the warm water of the Atlantic.

Today, we will have a late departure to Marrakech through the highway. Once we arrive in Marrakech, you may want to stroll in the bustling Jemaa el-Fna Square (the focal point of Marrakech). The Square turns into a carnival in the evening filled with acrobats, snake-charmers, storytellers, musicians, magicians along with the food stalls serving Moroccan delicacies.

Today, we will spend the day exploring the best of Marrakech with a local tour guide. Drive through the Ville Nouvelle (New Town) to make a visit to the botanical Majorelle Gardens.

Have a guided tour of the Medina (old town) by visiting the 15th century Saadian Tombs, the 19th century Bahia Palace before strolling in the vibrant Souks that are divided into sections. 

End the tour of Marrakech in the bustling Jemaa el-Fna Square hoping you had an enjoyable time with us.
